My take on the fragility of life
The 15th day of the month comes to a close. Today the world, or at least my part of the world, recognized the achievements of Martin Luther King, Jr. in the civil rights movement. His life was a most virtuous one, but was cut short by the bullet of an assassin. He had a vision of a better world, but this scared some people. It almost makes me lose faith in humanity to know that someone could take the life of such a good person. King was someone who thought outside of himself. I happened to catch a program on talk radio about his life. A woman that knew King was on the show and the host ended the interview by thanking this woman for her 'life'. The host had so much respect for this woman's part in the civil rights movement that she thanked her for her 'life'. It really got me thinking about my life and my purpose in this world. Would someone thank me for my life or am I just a waste of space? Now, there's so many things I wanna do before I cease to be. I have so many plans for the future, but they need some solidifying. I know that the breath in my body won't always be there, so I have to do it right. I know that I wanna think outside of myself like King did. Oh, if only I could write a song that could save the world. Friends, the world around us is for our hands to shape. Let's make it a beautiful place to be before it's too late.

Even though your purpose might not be to change the world, as King did, remember you bring light into the lives of so many people around you. The love you make IS greater than the love you take. You are a beautiful person, I hope the world can see someday.
