Oh Glorious Day!
There's nothing better to start the day than
with a lesson in ancient philosophy
We look to the Prescoratic philosopher/mathematician Pythagoras (580-500 BC). He's most known for establishing the Pythagorean school of thought in Italy. Out of this school of thought came the familiar Pythagorean theorem (used to determine lengths of sides of right triangles). Pythagoras became a sort of cult figure and his teachings were popular for hundreds of years. His disciples were sworn to secrecy and faced death upon defying this promise.
Pythagoras' train of thought:
-the world is governed by numbers
-there's a connection between mathematical order and music
-believes in the existence of musical harmonies that accompany the orbits of celestial bodies that he called "Music of the Spheres"
-believes in reincarnation
